Post Scan update!!!

John Micheal is an amazing little monkey!!! Going to the get our first scan after surgery was exciting and scary at the same time.  I don't think it will ever get easy but it is so re-assuring of God's great miracles.  He did great getting the IV and going back for the scan.  We got to sit right outside the room where it was being done.  About half way through the scan we heard him start crying....helpless moment but the doctor and and nurses were able to give him more sedation medicine to go back to sleep.  It was not the same as full general anesthesia (not as strong).  The scan took about an hour and 15 minutes and we were able to be with him as soon as he came out! He was still asleep until I started talking to him and he jumped up (in the hallway) to the recovery room and insisted on us holding him.  The nurses said he had to lay down till we get to the room and I tried to help them but he is just to strong so they gave in....hahahaha!!! It is funny because this happens to us every time he gets a procedure done.  The nurses and doctors are always shocked as we try to tell them ahead of time.  I guess that comes from the stubbornness of his parents  :o)  He fell back asleep when I was holding him and about 45 minutes later the nurse had us start waking him up to get ready to go home.  We warned them again before we started that he is very fighsty when he comes off anesthetics and they said they were used to that.  Well half way through the waking up part the nurses didn't know what to do and said they had never seen that before. So they said we just needed to give him another hour to recover and we agreed after about 30 minutes of passing him back and forth. We LOVE that little man!!! We gave it time and he finally woke up being the sweetest little baby ever!  So the procedure was only suppose to last 2 hours from start to finish and it ended up being 8:30am until 2:30pm.  Long day but whatever it takes matters the most! Now we are anxiously waiting for the results.  Thanks everyone for the support and prayers......it means more then you will ever know!
